Job Description Summary
As an Agriculture Specialist, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including serving as a liaison between the company and its grower partners. You will be involved in having growers sign contracts, sample and evaluate crops, and work with growers regarding their field and storage management. You will assist in scheduling field and storage deliveries to meet production quantity and quality requirements. This position will have supervisory authority and work closely with the other staff members and other departments to assist the company in meeting performance, quality and safety goals and standards.

Always maintain and promote safe work practices, while participating in safety programs.Build and foster effective business relationships with growers, suppliers, and contractors.Collaborate with growers and plant production personnel to coordinate deliveries with plant needs.Be responsible for training, evaluation, and direction of employees involved in raw product deliveries.Direct the movement of raw product from the source to the plant, to assure that plant raw product needs are met in a manner consistent with goals.Train and supervise subordinates in safety and accident prevention practices to assure a safe employee and working environment.Provides supervision, training, and leadership to ensure that employees are performing assigned work properly.Assure that field equipment, and the operation of the equipment, follows Lamb-Weston guidelines.Regularly work outdoors during the growing season, including digging and taking product samples from crop fields.Inspect automotive equipment, scheduling needed repair or service work.Coordinate the operation and maintenance of equipment, storage facilities, and repair facilities.Carry out other duties and responsibilities as outlined by your manager.Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field preferred.Minimum 1-2 years of related experience preferred.Knowledge of agronomic characteristics for potato crops is preferred, but not required.Must have the capability for daily vehicle travel, including driving on rural roads to and from crop fields, which will be substantial through storage and growing areas (company vehicle provided for daily travel needs).Must have a basic mechanical understanding of Agriculture equipment operations.Must possess strong computer skills, including Windows & Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, and Excel).Must complete company-provided training for First Aid CertificationMust possess a valid provincial driver's license and meet Company driving standards. A driver’s abstract check is required.Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises 2 to 6 subordinate employees within the field department during peak seasonal periods and carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
