We're recruiting an exciting Aftermarket Procurement Specialist role based at our HQ in Wolverhampton. We're keen to speak to candidates at a Buyer level or similar level but those who are looking for a role with more strategic element to it. Our team are responsible for the identification and management of the supply chain required to support existing post series production program and new business projects.
You'll be involved in managing bill of materials, identifying strategies to source the best suppliers as well as working cross functionally across a range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be an energetic, proactive, analytical, and adaptable. You will be empowered and accountable to drive the business forward, owning and resolving issues, driving improvements forward, whilst communicating progress to stakeholders.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Manage a series of Aftermarket programmes, with total BoM (Bill of Materials) ownership, inclusive of programme strategy and Bid management control.
Ownership and full accountability of departmental RFQ's - assisting with supplier selection, cost evaluation and metric reporting.
To work in close collaboration with the relevant Programme Manager for the chosen programme/s – forming part of specific programme IPT and Supply Chain Lead for given programme.
Liaising with production controllers, buyers, programme managers, Account Managers to enable OTIF of critical programmes through our Aftermarket business.
Involved in supplier selection for optimum ‘right part with right supplier’, leveraging key stakeholders including suppliers and engineering, whilst maintaining Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).
Be accountable and represent Supply Chain in relevant escalation, programme and strategy meetings presenting up to L3 level.
Work with account managers and commodity managers on supplier strategy in-line with VS requirements
Timely problem resolution of obsolescence, drawing issues and management of concessions, drawing changes.
Facilitate stakeholder reviews and action outcomes supporting programmes requirements.
What will you bring to the role?
Essential skills:
Have an understanding of business processes with a high degree of commercial acumen.
Excellent ability to communicate effectively internally and externally at all levels.
Must be able to read or interpret Engineering drawings or have knowledge in Engineering
Desirable skills:
CIPS qualification or equivalent supply chain qualification is ideal
Project management experience/ methodology
Understanding of business processes with a high degree of commercial acumen.
Competent in collating and presenting programme status reviews.
Action focused, driven to deliver concrete and sustainable results.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering KPI improvement in an industrial environment, working either independently or as part of a multifunctional team
Engineering knowledge/exposure is highly desirable
Procurement experience in Aerospace / Automotive including machining, electronics and/or distributed products.
