Aerospace Technical Manager

The Program Manager is responsible for managing employees in the design, implementation, and support of computer applications for enhanced business and related technical processes.

What You Will Do:

Manages multiple complex strategic projects/programs across the entire project lifecycle. Monitors, measures and reports on project portfolio status to IT and senior business leadership. Assists in strategic planning and visioning based on organization goals and objectives. Provides mentorship, support and guidance to project managers. Align and continually evaluate projects throughout the entire project lifecycle. Defines resources and schedule for project/program implementation. Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning. Plans and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones. Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders on the operational aspects of the projects. Performs team assessments and evaluations. Develop Requests for Proposals (RFP) for external services.  Establish and maintain strong cross-team working relationships and collaboration. Reviews and ensures conformance with standards, policies and procedures involved with or related to the delivery of IMS services. 

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent, preferably in data processing or a related field, from an accredited university or equivalent industry experience. Advanced degree or comparable on-the-job experience is preferred.  Minimum of 10 years previous work-related experience. Experience with software applications similar to ABS core applications. Proven experience in Systems Development environment with project management responsibility for successful medium-scale multi-year projects.  Prior administrative responsibility for three to five professionals.  Prior experience working in organizations to support services provided to internal/external clients.  Prior experience with financial reporting for capital projects and operations expenses. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing and managing resources. Clear understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. Clarity and conciseness in oral and written communications; demonstrated capability to produce effective presentations for delivery to both technical and non-technical audiences.  Strong interpersonal skills to achieve process changes and departmental goals within a matrixed organization; ability to communicate and work well with others at all levels of the corporation.  Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to Manager, Director, or Executive Level position.
