This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
We are seeking someone to apply their natural leadership and organizational skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact the bold missions at Blue Origin. You will work on the full life cycle of Lunar spacecraft components focused on propellant management systems in space. Starting in early life cycle you will write requirements, facilitate architectural trade studies with a focus on cost and technical feasibility, and help the team formulate early design cycles. Mid life cycle you will ensure robust requirements flowdown to the component level from the various vehicles, spearhead compiling design reviews for the subsystems and ensure integration of our evolving complex systems. Late in the development life cycle you will support qualification and system tests, guide the team to complete verifications and certify our components for flight. Throughout the life cycle you will manage Technical Performance Metrics, safety products, and interface control documents. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Work at significant technical depth on complex subsystems with minimal oversight as part of the Zero-g Propellant Management Product Team (IPT)Use established professional expertise to understand and apply systems engineering fundamentals across the development cycle of systems including concept development, requirements, design, analysis, validation, integrations, safety, configuration management, verification, and testUnderstand and manage key Technical Performance Metrics for the systemSupport the development and execution of component and subsystem analysis and testsCoordinate plans for subsystem level verification test and analysisSpearhead the organization and aid in preparation efforts for reviewsEnsure timely updates and communication of system level architecture diagrams, schematicsCreatively guide the team to balance the objectives of a high velocity development program while meeting the intent of standard system engineering processesTackle the diverse range of fluids propulsion design engineer tasks like leading trade studies, component design/integration, 1st order analysis, test support and supplier interface as the opportunities ariseMentor and educate junior Blue Origin employees on systems engineering processes and methods.Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar5+ years experience in Systems EngineeringExperience with fluid/gas components i.e., solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels and instrumentation.Experience working on highly engineered products in rapid development environmentExperience working with cryogenic propellant management systems (Liquid Acquisition, Propellant Conditioning, Cryogenic Fluid Management)Understanding and passion for Systems Engineering principles and practices such as requirements definition, requirements traceability, functional decomposition, verification, and validation, creating and managing interface control document (ICD), configuration management, and systems engineering management plan (SEMP)Participate, as needed, in technical and programmatic customer interactions that require your expertiseExperience working with other project members to drive progress toward milestonesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications:
