**Impact**
As a **Data Automation & AI Engineer** , you will be an integral part of our IT team, tasked with developing, deploying, supporting, and maintaining custom automation solutions. In this role, you will create tailored automations to streamline business processes across all departments and functional areas at PB. Your responsibilities will include designing, coding, and implementing automation solutions across various platforms and programming languages to support business operations.
**The Job**
+ Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, RPA tools).
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
+ Maintain and update automation scripts and tools, ensuring optimal performance.
+ Provide training and support to end-users on automated processes.
+ Document automation processes and stay updated with the latest trends and technologies.
+ Build strong relationships with teams to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.
+ Continuously improve proficiency in programming languages and automation tools.
+ Make informed decisions and solve problems effectively, even under pressure.
+ Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
+ Identify and improve business processes for greater efficiency.
+ Apply best practices for AI applications in production environments.
+ Understand data modeling and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
+ Conduct thorough testing and debugging of automation solutions to ensure reliability, accuracy, and performance.
**Qualifications & Skills required**
This is a critical AI automation development role requiring experience with complex transactional and large distributed applications. Pitney Bowes product hosting solutions leverage multiple technologies in complex data center and cloud environments that support multi-tiered high-availability applications.
The role requires a talented, self-directed individual with a strong work ethic and the following skills:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
+ Experience using Python to communicate various APIs using Requests Library.
+ Proven experience in developing Python code, working with Pandas Library, and performing SQL queries for automation and AI projects.
+ Proficiency in Git for version control and code management. Experience with GitLab is preferred.
+ Strong understanding of data manipulation, processing, and analysis using Python libraries and frameworks.
+ Familiarity with OpenAI API and using Large Language Models solutions in coding of AI based applications and RAG Solutions.
+ Experience in designing and implementing scalable and efficient workflows for automation.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
+ Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
+ Proficient in both written and verbal English language.
**Good to have:**
+ Experience with machine learning and AI technologies such as
+ Experience with Microsoft Graph API, Airflow + Airflow API, Jira, Jira API, etc.
+ Knowledge of database management and SQL and SQL Views.
+ Certification in process automation tools or methodologies.
+ Experience using Snowflake, SAP and SalesForce.
