Make efforts to support and influence the business sectors in which you work to keep those people on point in supporting the HSEQ vision and mission. + Stay abreast of emerging trends and issues in industry related to the business sector in which you support. + Network with industry and client counterparts to build relationships and credibility in the sector in which you support. + Liaise with the broader HSE team seeking SME advice, and project or key client support as required from the Key Client and Major Project Support team.. + Support business partners in project pursuit and planning through networking, engaging people, and using the Horizon platform to assess project activity in your sector. + Devise improvement strategies for your projects and people in your sector using the leading and lagging data available. + Listen to and understand the specific needs of your business sector partners and make recommendations and plans that help them achieve HSE success for their clients while staying complaint with WSP standards. + Follow proper change management processes for plans or procedures developed specifically for projects. + Proactively reach out to project teams and sector people leaders to embed yourself in the sector business and project support. + Review, understand and proactively support the effective and consistent application of HSE Management System (i.e., Policy, Programs, Procedures and Processes). + Review project HSE Plans and related HSE documentation. + Monitor and verify the project HSE compliance with WSP HSE Management System, Provincial/Federal regulations by conducting frequent site audits and inspection visit reports. + Support the WSP Business Operations in identifying training needs, gaps, and training providers. + Assist with implementation of HSE legal changes or through knowledge of industry best practices. + Provide HSE mentoring and coaching to our business leaders and professional employees (e.g., Professional Personnel and Worker). + Support business operations performing incident investigations and root cause analysis, identify proper corrective actions, monitor tracking and closure of actions in WSP’s online reporting system; and collaborate with HSE Expertise Team (e.g., High Potential investigations), as required. + Support the HSE Programs Team by providing subject expertise regarding HSE training development, communication, audit preparation and procedure review. **What you’ll bring to WSP:** + Degree, diploma or certificate program from a post-secondary and accredited institution in environment, health and safety (or equivalent combination of education and experience). + A professional designation such as (CRSP, CRST, CHSO or CHSC) would be an asset. + 8-10 years of experience related to industrial or construction project safety. + Intermediate to senior experience level in an HSE role + Knowledge of Canadian provincial OH&S Acts, regulations, and industry best practices. + Bilingualism (French/English) an asset + Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) + Autonomy and self-motivated team player. + Proficient computer skills and thorough understanding of Microsoft office suite. **Deliverables & Key Performance Indicators:** + Achieve target for number of visits to projects to perform inspection/audit as budgeted and set in annual Goals and Objectives (G&O) + Completion of HSE Inspection Reports, Audit Reports, HSE Root Cause Analysis Report, and other measured metrics (e.g., inspection or audit record, corrective actions) + Managing events within the WSP Online Reporting System against measured metrics (e.g., HSE incidents and observations: Timeline to action or close a reported event) + Cascading and supporting HSE communications, goals and objectives. + Positive feedback from sector leadership and business partners. **WSP** is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
