As an Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting research and development activities to drive the creation of innovative solutions. You will utilize your technical expertise in areas related to navigation, system/software design, data analysis, algorithm development, or related fields to contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge technologies. Your role will involve designing and conducting experiments, simulations, and analyses to drive the development of new navigation technologies and products.
\n\nAs part of the Navigation, Controls, and Surveillance team within Advanced & Applied Technology, you will be at the forefront of research to drive autonomy and navigation work for our customers, especially in work related to navigation and sensors. You will play a crucial role in driving technological advancements, shaping the future of the company, and contributing to Honeywell's commitment to addressing global challenges through innovative solutions.
\n\nThe position will be based at our Plymouth, MN facility.

Key Responsibilities
\n\n\n\tContribute as part of a technical team conducting research and development related to navigation systems and sensors\n\tDesign, develop, and test navigation systems and related sensors\n\tSupport the development and integration of complex algorithms such as AI/ML algorithms to improve Honeywell technologies\n\tConduct software and hardware integration of navigation systems and sensors\n\tSupport hardware testing of sensors and systems which may include ground or flight testing\n\tTravel: 0 - 15% may be required\n\n\nBENEFITS OF WORKING FOR HONEYWELL

\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.

The annual base salary range for this position is $113,000 -$141,000 Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

\n\n\nYOU MUST HAVE
\n\n\n\tBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics\n\t4 years of experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience, or PhD degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, robotics, mechanical engineering, or similar\n\t3 years of relevant experience in areas such as navigation, sensing and estimation, software development, system engineering, sensor integration, hardware testing, or related fields\n\t5 years of experience working projects with C/C++ and Python or Matlab\n\n\nWE VALUE
\n\n\n\tAdvanced degree in an engineering or related field with experience and interest in research\n\tExperience with Kalman filters, inertial measurement units, and error modeling for various sensors\n\tExperience with sensor calibration including inertial measurement units\n\tExperience with alternative aiding sources for GPS-denied operation, especially with magnetic anomaly aided navigation\n\tStrong software skills to implement algorithms in embedded software\n\tGood communication skills and ability to simply describe technical concepts\n\tAbility and willingness to learn new skills as needed on projects\n\tInterpersonal skills and ability to work in small technical teams\n\n\nABOUT HONEYWELL
