We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) with experience or interest in neurology to deliver patient-centered care and support the needs of our growing practice. Collaborating Physicians: Dr. Gorelov received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, NY. He completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Gorelov completed a Residency in Neurology at North Shore â€" Long Island Jewish Health System. Dr. Gorelov completed a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Virginia Health System, Charlottesville, VA. Dr. Asra S. Husain is a neurologist in Valley Stream, New York and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Mercy Hospital-Rockville Centre and St. Catherine of Siena Hospital. She received her medical degree from NYIT College Of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Asra S. Husain has expertise in treating Alzheimer's dementia, Parkinson's disease, dementia, among other conditions. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments, including patient histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions such as migraines, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and neuropathies. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests, including MRI, CT scans, EEG, and lab results, to inform patient care. Provide patient education regarding conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications to optimize health outcomes. Prescribe medications and therapies in compliance with state and federal regulations. Collaborate with neurologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care. Perform follow-up evaluations and modify treatment plans as necessary. Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Stay up-to-date with advancements in neurology and contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical protocols and patient care practices. Qualifications: Current and unrestricted New York State Nurse Practitioner license. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., ANCC, AANP) in Adult, Family, or Acute Care. Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with neurology experience preferred (new graduates with relevant clinical rotations are encouraged to apply). Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) , preferably EPIC systems. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
