Center for Reproductive Medicine: 
The Center for Reproductive Medicine (CRM) focuses on providing comprehensive care in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). Our team of specialists is dedicated to offering advanced treatment options including in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproductive technologies (ART). The care team includes physicians, nurses, medical assistants, embryologists, social workers, sonographers, administrative staff, and other inter-professional partners.
 

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced APP to join our REI team at the CRM. This role involves working closely with patients to provide specialized reproductive care, including conducting thorough evaluations, managing treatment plans, performing procedures, and supporting patients through various fertility treatments.
Job duties include:

Complete history and physical examinations; order appropriate diagnostic studies; synthesize information and make informed clinical decisions; develop appropriate care plans; and be responsive to patient and family preferencesProvide recommendations using current medical information and scientific evidence-based practiceEvaluate and treat common reproductive endocrine disorders and gynecologic issues as patient needs arise.Evaluate and manages plans for treatments including oral ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination cyclesPerform transvaginal and transabdominal pelvic ultrasound for purposes of gynecologic evaluation and follicular monitoringAssist in managing early pregnancy concernsPerform saline infusion sonography, hysterosalpingography and office hysteroscopy proceduresPerform intrauterine insemination (IUI)Document patient care data in accordance with the institutional policiesCollaborate and consult with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment and continuity of care.Other duties as assigned Predominantly gynecological care focused, with some early obstetrics care and male history and examinationsGYN Care FocusesHealth maintenance examinationsExpertise in the evaluation and management of common gynecologic concerns such as contraceptive management, abnormal uterine bleeding, acute vaginitis, etc. Office procedures such as IUD placement, and those listed aboveObstetrics Care Focus:Management of first trimester obstetrical care, including pregnancies of unknown location

Required Qualifications (NP): 

Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan.Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.Current specialty certification as a Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner or Women's Health Nurse PractitionerGraduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).Current DEA registration requiredAHA approved BLS certification1 year of recent APP experience caring for fertility patients within the last 5 years in an ambulatory care setting with primary focus in OBGYN. 

Required Qualifications (PA):

Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor agencies, CAHEA or CAAHEP.Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required  Current DEA registration requiredAHA approved BLS certification1 year of recent APP experience caring for fertility patients within the last 5 years in an ambulatory care setting with primary focus in OBGYN.

Hours: 40 hours per week at the Center for Reproductive Medicine, possibly other Michigan Medicine outpatient locations in the future
Shift/Hours: Days - daytime hours, variable schedule, and possible weekend requirement based on patient need.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
