Advanced Practice Nurse
Conducts psychiatric evaluation/medical management and related therapeutic services. Aids in formulating diagnostic impressions based on DSM-V criteria in collaboration with the psychiatrist and other treatment members.  May practice in the role of therapist, providing individual and/or group psychotherapy, as needed.  Can write prescriptions for non-controlled substances.    Will be in verbal and/or electronic contact with the supervisory psychiatrist.    Attends meetings as required.  Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the consumers served.  The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the consumer population served.  He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about the consumer’s status in order to identify each consumer’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the consumer group. 2 days a week in person medication management for Archway ACT program.  Program is a day program for adults with significant mental illness.  Documentation is completed concurrently in EMR. Back up coverage as needed for other sites.  This includes Shore Medical Center Consult Service, and JJC program in Philadelphia.  Legacy will credential you at both locations and help you obtain a Pennsylvania license if you do not already have one.  8 hours telepsych coverage for Volunteer of America clients who have case management needs and also need psychiatric evaluations.  Usually it is 1 consult per client as Legacy does not do continuous medication management at this site. 10 hours a month telepsych coverage for Turning Point Adolescent day program.  This is a co-occurring substance abuse and mental health  program.  Only patients who need medication for mental health will be referred to Legacy.  This is not a MAT site, the program takes care of the substance abuse piece. As needs arise in the Mental Health staffing department we may add or change assignments.  

 

Hours:

40 hours per week (full-time) or 32 hours per week (reduced full-time)
