Job Description:
General competencies:
Working as a member of a team and providing\nQA/QC support for modular / Hydrogen / Callidus / KME / PECS product lines for\nUOP’s customers in India and worldwide.
• The work involves development of inspection\nplan for the projects. Carrying out inspections/ shop visits during fabrication\nto ensure implementation and compliance of the inspection plan. Providing\ntechnical support during procurement of materials, construction/ fabrication of\nmodules/ skids to ensure sound inspection and QA/ QC for Pressure Vessels,\nRotary equipment’s, Piping, Structural etc.
• Analyzing\nand recommending solutions to technical problems in the area of inspection and\nQA/QC. Providing technical support as needed for proposals, cost estimates and\ndesign basis data. Develop procedures, standards and tools for inspection and\nQA/ QC executed in various projects.
• Identify\nareas of improvement / gaps in system and recommend required changes.
• Close\ninteraction with suppliers / fabricators to ensure a sound inspection and QA/QC\nplan for the project.
• Close\ninteraction with external Third Party inspection agencies inspectors for\nimplementation of the inspection plan.
• Close\ncoordination with other engineering disciplines.
• Traveling\nabout 20%, for providing technical assistance during setting up of project\ninspection plan, and compliance during fabrication of modules and skids in\nIndia as well as overseas.
• Ensure to\nmeet customer satisfaction requirements, including UOP Quality standards and\nUOP technical standards.
• Actively\nparticipate to ensure that ISO 9001 certification is maintained and perform\nInternal Audits
• Ensure to\nprovide input and participates in Supplier evaluation reviews, project\nclose-out reports and subsequent meetings. Act on applicable specialist\ngroup-related RCA’s (root cause analysis) for CAPA’s (corrective &\npreventive actions) that come out of these reviews.
• Follow-up\non items and lessons learned for applicable specialization as captured thro’\nRCA’s for a CAPA, field reports, establish root cause and implement corrective\nactions.
• Manage\nand address cross departmental issues, including specialist engineering issues\nrelated to Equipment integration with other UOP technologies and with other UOP\nEquipment Offices (International Alignment).
• Provides\ndeliverables within budgeted cost and schedule with a high level of quality.
•\nCommunicates with project manager on a regular basis regarding progress,\nchanges & schedule.
• Keeps\nup-to-date with current technology developments in area of expertise and shares\nthis knowledge with others, where appropriate through leadership of Community\nof Practices.
• Manage\napplicable specialist group-related documentation and work with the Team to\nimplement the Document Management system to ensure alignment with work process.
• Support and adhere to corporate HS&E\npolicies, in relation to Office & Field Safety practices and engineering\ndesign policies.

• Relevant\nexperience in Inspection QA/QC for the petroleum refining & petrochemical\nindustry.
• Hands on\nexperience in developing inspection and QA/ QC plans, carrying out quality\nsurveys, NDE during fabrication etc; reviewing weld procedure; reviewing\nconstructability, selecting materials etc.
• Experienced\nin inspection of static, Rotary equipment’s, piping & Structural. To be\nLevel-II qualified by ASME SNTC -1A or international equivalent in RT, UT, MT,\nPT & VT.
• Good\ncomputer skills are required. Good communication skills are essential.
•\nExperience/ Knowledge of inter-disciplinary linkages & interdependencies.
• Capable\nof taking independent judgments and critical decisions as required.
• Understanding\nof Equipment Design and Fabrication techniques, standards and tools.
• Good\nKnowledge and understanding of ASME Section II, V, VIII, IX, B31.3, AWS D1.1\ncodes / standards.
•\nComprehensive Knowledge and experience of international codes & technical\nregulatory / Statutory certifications require
• Excellent\ninterpersonal and communication skills to be used at the International level\nwith colleagues worldwide.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical with about 10 years of experience
• Master’s degree may be an asset.
