Job Description
If you are an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our St. Louis, MO location, you will develop, evaluate, and improve multiple manufacturing processes, utilizing knowledge of DFM and DFA to collaborate in the creation of new process technology, improved product designs, and materials while supporting production goals, safety, quality, cost, and delivery. A focus on automation, continuous improvement, project management, and new product development is required. A background in controls and electronics manufacturing is highly desirable. You will support all Copeland Electronics and Controls facilities, contract manufacturers, and suppliers in process improvements.
As An Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, You Will:
Develop manufacturing and testing processes for new product development/introduction, capacity growth, and efficiency improvementsDevelop and design manufacturing layouts, fixtures, and cells using Siemens NXLead project team activities: team may include manufacturing engineering functions only or cross-functionally to include members from product planning, procurement, quality, operations, and suppliersUse financial analysis to estimate labor savings and justify project costsContinually improve process capability (Cpk) and process efficiency or OEE of assigned processes while supporting quality, cost, delivery, and safetyImplement lean production principles in alignment with the Copeland Business System to create or improve material flowAssist with plant digital transformation: including IoT machine connectivity and the launch of the Manufacturing Operations Management system (MOM/MES)Support strategic initiatives across Copeland Electronics and Controls including capacity growth and equipment installsCollaborate with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Automation team to develop industrial automation and control systemsREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experienceSkills in 3D modelingControls programming knowledgeKnowledge of industrial automation technologyExperience with electronics manufacturing including SMT, wave solder, in-circuit test, and final verification testExperience reading electrical schematicsLegal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this positionPREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS
8+ years’ experience as a process/manufacturing engineerExperience with Siemens NX, Allen Bradley, Fanuc industrial, and collaborative roboticsSociety/Trade Involvement related to assigned process(es)Knowledge of ISO9001/14001Understand performing FMEAWorking knowledge of PPAP and statistical process controlCertified Project ManagerProgramming experience with Python, MATLAB, C++, Java, Ladder Logic, LabVIEW and robotic programmingFlexible Work Schedule – Hybrid Work Option and Core Hours
This role has the flexibility of a hybird work from home option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
