Job Description SummaryAdvanced Lead Engineer Fleet Management is responsible to provide technical leadership to the in-service technical management of HPT (High Pressure Turbine) Module Components, and sub-systems throughout the product life cycle. In this role, you will report to the Sub Section Manager – GE90 & GP7200 Fleet team, JFWTC, Bangalore. In addition, you will interface with organizations such as the Engineering Departments (Design, Repair, Analytics, Materials Engineering, etc.,), Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Shops, Digital Services Solutions (DSS), Aviation Operations Center (AOC), Customer & Product Support Organization (C&PSO) and Global Research teams, based on business needs.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead Product level KPIs for HPT Module components for GPActs as technical interface between GE Internal organizations and Airline/MRO shops. Own and maintains the ICA documents for assigned hardware's (ATA’s), this includes responding to technical inquiries, author Service Bulletins and support customer technical communication. Drive business-level maintenance cost decision for scrap or repair strategyWork along with module leaders on module life cycles plans and drive long term strategyLead Safety & reliability Programs and Provide Technical supportProject management of Fleet Technical programs, TAT, Services Productivity projectsDeliver Customer Satisfaction / Build relationshipsLead discussions in Tech Reviews/Customer meetings/Leading Indicator forumsDeliver timely and accurate field containment plans and work with the expanded engineering team to develop field fix design solutionsDriving Lean and continuous improvement actions for hot sectionLead business initiatives for field issues and cost of ownership goalsProvide support for Time On Wing (TOW) objectives and Customized Service Agreements (CSA)/ Cost Margin Reviews (CMR) reviews around hardware ownershipRound the clock availability on need basis to resolve critical field issues (eg AOG, Work scope Mitigation, Work stoppage)Drive change by demonstrating clear thinking, articulate roles & responsibilities, manage handoffs between different organizations.Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and customer commitments.Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externallyQualifications/Requirements
Bachelors /Masters/PhDs in Mechanical Engineering specialization with strong academic track record.Minimum of 8 years of experience in Aviation Engines or Turbo machinery with minimum 4 years in product support Engineering (PSE)/ Fielded hardware design engineering positions/ Hardware issue investigation with expertise in Fleet Hardware ownership and Systems engineeringMinimum 4 years experience of working on hot section components in PSE/Design or Repair domainsIn-depth understanding of processes for airworthiness, Services engineering technology/toolsStrong engineering problem solving capabilitiesStrong project management skills including cross-functional coordination of activitiesAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externallyAbility and willingness to travel as requiredLean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
Desired Characteristics
Master’s degree in engineeringPrevious experience in a product or customer support role or Fielded hardware design experience or MRO/ engine assembly shopExperience with TOPS8D, engine field problem resolutionAbility to effectively manage multiple project responsibilitiesAbility to effectively manage multiple project responsibilitiesAbility to effectively interact with the customerProcess focused with the ability to assess and improve processes and work on methodsStrong organization and planning skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and leadership skillsLean Six Sigma – Black Belt or Master Black Belt
