Advanced Hand Solder Operator - 1st Shift

Why Ducommun? + Excellent company culture – as recognized by Newsweek’s Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces + Clean and climate controlled working environment + Opportunity for career growth + Great benefits including paid vacation and sick time, 401K match, Employee Stock Purchase Program, annual bonus plan, and tuition reimbursement Job Summary & Essential Functions: Build through-hole (THT) and surface mount (SMT) printed circuit board assemblies, placing components on boards per controlled parts lists, drawing documentation and quality workmanship guidelines. · Assemble electrical or electromechanical devices or components using a variety of hardware/tools o Pull up documentation required to preform work on customer assemblies o Hand soldering of surface mount, through-hole components and complex wiring § Repair of fine pitch/BGA § Small gauge wire bonding § Precise RTV application § Fine soldering using a microscope o Performs touch ups, rework and repair § Fix missing/damaged PCB marking § Repair damaged conductors and cuts § Fix board delamination/blister § Fix board base material damage § Pad repairs · Fixing lifted/missing pads/TH § Removing/replacing conformal coating § Replacing damaged components (e.g. Through-hole, SMT, BGA’s) o Operate a variety of equipment as needed to fulfill customer requirements § Knowledge of soldering iron tips and chemicals § Hot air § Desoldering system § Microscope o Able to identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class o Responsible for the proper handling of product and components o Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area o Perform other assignments as required Required Skills & Qualifications: · J-STD-001 certified · IPC-7721 certified · Advanced soldering skills · Ability to read and understand engineering assembly drawings · Ability to read and follow assembly instructions · Ability to build electrical and electromechanical assemblies · Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity · Ability to use tools and testing devices · Strong math and measurement skills · High level of attention to detail and accuracy · Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills · Mentor Hand Solderer 1 and Hand Solderer 2 Physical Demands (reasonable accommodations may be made, if necessary): Physical Abilities Lift /Carry Stand - N/A 10 lbs or less - Continuously Walk - N/A 11-20 lbs - Occasionally Sit - Continuously 21-50 lbs - Occasionally Climb – N/A 51-100 lbs - N/A Crawl - N/A Over 100 lbs - N/A Squat or Kneel - Occasionally Bend - Occasionally Push / Pull Fine Manipulation - Continuously 10 lbs or less - Continuously Reach Outward - Occasionally 10-20 lbs - Occasionally Reach Above Shoulder - Occasionally 20-50 lbs - Occasionally Drive - N/A 50-100 lbs - N/A Over 100 lbs - N/A N/A (Not Applicable) - Activity is not applicable to this occupation.
