Advanced Engineering Technician Job Number: 355232 Category: Test Engineering Description: Job Title: Advanced Engineering Technician Location: Taunton, MA Zip Code: 02780 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Contract Pay Rate: Keywords: #EngineeringTechnician #AdvanceEngineeringTech ***DOD Secret Security Clearance*** JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Tests and troubleshoots a variety of equipment/process operations involving an application or technical skills in a manufacturing environment, re; loading software, performing continuity and functional testing (electrical, electronic, fiber optic, antenna, etc.) * Construct, modify, adjust, debug basic test tooling and equipment given appropriate drawings, parts and instructions * Set up, calibrate and perform routine/basic preventative maintenance tasks maintain automated and manual test equipment, components, devices, or systems * Layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems * Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment * Interprets and works from basic engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics and written or verbal instructions * Calibrates, adjusts, aligns, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems * Prepares prescribed compounds and solutions * Implements basic practical solutions for process improvements, conducts and documents experiments under guidance of senior technician * Organizes data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommends resolution/process improvement *Works under general supervision * Performs calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed * Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format * May provide direction to other employees with similar duties REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Security Clearance may be required * Associate's degree * 3+ years related experience * Solid knowledge and proficiency in the use of fabrication tools and test equipment * Ability to fabricate complex hardware * Solid knowledge of generally accepted technical theory Benefits: * Medical / Health Benefits with multiple plan options, Flexible Spending Accounts, Dental and Vision / glasses / prescription contact lens and eye test options available. * On the job training / cross-training to develop and expand skills, creating opportunity for advancement and personal development.
