JOB DESCRIPTION
1.- Lead a group of manufacturing engineers engaged in developing integration of manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary to produce the best vehicle seat covers in the market. Ensure hiring, training & development of all manufacturing engineering personnel.
2.-To provide support to the plants during new program launches and complex engineering changes implementation.
To ensure the timely, accurate & detailed completion of the Manufacturing Engineering Matrix indicating program completion dates and status for all major manufacturing engineering deliverables, including: manning requirements and machine matrix, process flow diagram, plant lay-out, gauges, fixtures & poke-yoke identification, as well as sewing and ergonomics assessments.
3.-Identify equipment needs and assist in the production process development. Participate and support the prototype production requirements.
Work with Operations, Quality & Product Engineering personnel to prevent, identify, and fix all manufacturing related issues.
Identify potential automation, gauging, fixturing & poke-yoke needs of production processes in the manufacturing plants.
4.-During the prototype phase, recommend solutions for all issues identified during the builds, and assist in the implementation of those recommended solutions into the production process. Follow up the production plants to make sure that all equipment is properly maintained and provide the necessary support to the plants to make it happen.
To ensure the feasibility mass production of covers, participate on the birth certificate process to accurate the sew routing repeatability.
5.-Improve technical skills of the members of the engineering departments at the plant level, in order to more effectively contribute to their plant’s operational results.
6.-Maintain good communication among the plants for effective standardization procedures and good practice initiatives sharing.
7.-Ensure a flawless transition of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities to the plant’s launch team. Support plant run-at-rate and PSO events as required.
8.- Responsible to meet job requirements as per Manufacturing and Quality Systems.
