Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Alexandria Staging Facility in Alexandria, Louisiana in support of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Detention Center.

 

 This position offers:

Full-time opportunity, 40 hours per weekPart-time and PRN scheduling is availableConsistent and predictable incomePaid vacation and paid sick leaveFull complement of benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, 401k and more for those working at least 28 hours per week on a consistent basis.

The Position will have the following requirements:

Completion of an accredited Masters DegreeNational CertificationAt least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a family or primary care settingActive TX licenseCurrent DEA registrationCertification in Basic Life Support (BLS)

Key Duties Include:

Adheres to the IHSC Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Collaborative Practice and Prescriptive Authority Agreement (CP/PAA).Works as part of an integrated health care team to provide acute, emergent, and chronic health care to patients in compliance with IHSC policy and guidance and accreditation standards as prescribed by ICE/IHSC.Performs comprehensive history and physical evaluations, behavioral health care, and minor outpatient surgical procedures for detainees as required by the medical condition.Demonstrates appropriate application of clinical knowledge within documented treatment plans, prescriptions, and provides treatment throughout the life span as appropriate to discipline and facility setting.Demonstrates appropriate application of clinical knowledge within documented lab/diagnostic ordering and interpretation, medication prescribing practices, referrals to consultants, follow-up after hospitalization or consultation.Participates in and complies with court ordered treatment plans to include evaluation and treatment of patients with psychiatric illness or life-threatening conditions including hunger strike.Provides full spectrum of age and gender specific health care to include treatment of gender dysphoria and pregnancy.
