Adult Education Night Teacher- GED Application Deadline 2/15/2025 Position Title Adult Education Night Teacher- GED Required Application Type Teacher / Admin Salary/Pay Scale $38.00 per hour Job Description GED Teacher Role - Adult Ed Adult Education Teacher Adult Education Teachers are advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement while serving the needs of a diverse student population.. As a result of the Adult Education Teacher, students will acquire skills and knowledge to pass the GED Exam. The successful candidate possesses: + Ability to work collaboratively with staff members, and administrators; + Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the community; + Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; + Strong foundation in the principles of anti-racism, trauma-sensitivity, and culturally-responsive education. + Strives to grow and learn in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. + Bachelor's Degree Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: + Maintain student records and data + Assisting students with personal goal setting, action planning, and progress-monitoring + Formulate and teach engaging lessons + Teach all sub-tests that are on the GED exam 6 Hours per week Job Qualifications Minimum Qualifications + Certified in New York State. + Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred). + Prior teaching experience preferred Application Procedure About Schenectady City Schools With a population of nearly 10,000 students, the Schenectady City School District is one of the largest in the Capital Region.
