Admissions Coordinator

Princess Anne Health & Rehabilitation Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia is seeking an Admissions Coordinator. Be the first point-of-contact for families, discharge planners and other new resident referral sources. Work with Sales and Marketing and be involved in the community to make sure people are aware of the excellence in healthcare that Princess Anne Health & Rehabilitation Center offers.

The duties of the Admissions Coordinator include answering questions, giving tours of the facility, and coordinating the referral-to-admission process for inpatient rehabilitative services.

An energetic, highly motivated team player is needed to assist the Admissions Director in a results-driven census culture. This highly visible position requires a customer service professional that is detail oriented in a fast paced, multi-task environment. Candidate must have a genuine desire to display excellence in first impressions and customer service. The Ideal candidates will be comfortable with public speaking and have experience in sales and marketing.

Job Description:

Responsible for obtaining referral information from telephone and walk-in inquiries and obtaining required documentation as outlined by corporate policy and procedure. Ensures financial verification is accurate and complete before the patient is admitted to the Healthcare Center therefore assisting in minimizing accounts receivables. Communicates all billing issues with the business office and the Admissions Director. Obtains medical and financial information necessary to process an inquiry through the approval process for admission conversion as outlined by corporate policy and procedure. Conducts a professional and effective tour which may include utilizing the Healthcare Center’s personnel with the objective of gaining family commitment to admit to the Center. Maintains or secures the means to maintain daily updates on the Admission, Discharge and Transfer System in accordance with the Daily Census Procedure Manual. Is responsible for integrity of the data that is entered into the ADT System. Conducts the admission process as outlined by corporate policy and procedure with patients and/or responsible parties. Ensures that a smooth transition is achieved and that all contractual agreements are complete upon admission. Provides updates to the Admissions Director in a timely fashion (no less than daily) on referrals, barriers to admission and all other departmental concerns. Informs the Admissions Director of any referral source issues that arise during the referral process. Assists with the training of all identified back up admissions team members. Promotes interdepartmental team dynamics and cooperation for efficient customer service in order to enhance census promotion. Involves staff in tours and introduces them appropriately to prospective clients. Reports all instances of abuse or neglect or other concerns to management. Attends and participates in orientation, training, and in-service education, and staff meetings. Ensures all mandatory training is completed on time. Performs other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the center.
