Responsibilities Admissions Coordinator Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 98-bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to adolescents, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan, geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serve hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency in the residents we serve. Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories. Our wooded campus provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreational activities. Oak Plains Academy is seeking a dedicated Admissions Coordinator who will assists the department director with ensuring all intake/admissions tasks and activities are completed accurately and coordinates the intake workflow while on shift in the department.   This position interfaces closely with both internal facility staff, physicians, as well as external referrals including hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Answers incoming phone calls effectively and efficiently. Answers phone within 3 rings using appropriate introductions. Gathers information regarding patient demographics, current behavior, referral source and financial/insurance information. Processing of referrals for possible admission. Sheduling of admissions and processing admissions. Knowledge of and communication with referral sources and customers who present for assessment. Records inquiry call and referrals information completely and accurately, to include clinical and medical information, patient demographics, legal status, payor information and call disposition. Follows all inquiry calls and referrals to disposition and communicates dispositions to referral sources. Processes insurance verification, patient registration process, vitals, resident searches, patient observations, scheduling of admissions, admissions processing, bed board monitoring, belongings searches, and other non-clinical duties as assigned. Other non-clinical duties as assigned, vitals, resident searches, patient observations, bed board monitoring, and stidemt belongings searches. Excellent customer service skills are required. Must possess superb problem solving and multi tasking skills with effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Must have the skill set to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Excellent computer skills required. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook applications.
