**Job Description**
The Administrative Assistant (AA) will provide clerical and administrative support to the Administrative Director and the Department of Medicine. The AA will provide highly confidential, diversified, administrative and secretarial duties for Department Leadership. AA will be cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and Mount Sinai Health System.
AA support to the manager or supervisor as related to day to day operations of the office or department. Duties include reception, word processing, entry level spreadsheet preparation, data entry, minutes taking, mail service, photocopying and other duties as required.

**Education Required:**
HS Diploma , Associate degree preferred, plus 2-3 years of related administrative experience or medical office experience required
Experiences And/or Skills Required:
Excellent secretarial, organizational, communication and administrative skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work. Word processing, including Word Perfect,
MS Word, Excel, power point and AION, email.
**Compensation Statement**
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $23.00 - $36.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

**Responsibilities**
1. Provide Administrative assistance and clerical support to the Department Leadership Team and the Residency Program.
2. Strive to optimize efficient use of management time, enhance intra and inter departmental communications and facilitate Department integration efforts across the Health System
3. Maintains complete, well organized and easily accessible files
4. Maintain and track all provider and resident’s CME, BLS, ACLS and PALS responsible to assure certifications/license are up to date.
5. Maintain Employee files cognizant of regulatory compliance
6. Arranges meetings and maintain calendars for Leadership team
7. Composing technical and non-technical correspondences
8. Assist with Q.A. projects
9. Provides logistical support for the department initiatives
10. Prepare monthly reports
11. Maintains and assure proper use of office equipment, cleanliness of work space in a well-organized manner
12. Answers telephones, take messages, handles and directs calls
13. Assist Administrative Director with on boarding of new providers and residents.
14. Assist residents with New Innovations.
15. Assist with Power point presentation and monthly metric reporting
16. Work in conjunction with the Administrative Assistant in Emergency Medicine and cover each other’s PTO days.
17. Assist Providers and Residents with IT access (ie: EPIC, Email, and NI).

21. Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities
22. Maintains patient/employee confidentiality.
23. Observes the Health Care systems compliance policies
24. Maintains all appropriate confidentialities
25. Optimizes administrative personnel time by appropriately scheduling meetings.

32. Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients. Families and significant others
33. Displays courtesy, tact and patience during interactions with all members of the hospital staff and extended community
34. Facilitates inter- and intra-departmental communications by appropriately scheduling meetings, communicating information, distributing mail and accurately transmitting phone messages
35. May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
