ADAS Platform Hardware System Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Platform Hardware Systems Engineer to join our team, focusing on the ADAS platform hardware development that will support multiple ADAS features. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic control unit (ECU) hardware development, automotive systems engineering, hardware software interfaces, and expertise in developing and optimizing System on Chip (SoC), microprocessor unit (MPU), and microcontroller units (MCU) ECU solutions for cutting-edge automotive technologies.

ADAS Platform System Hardware Design & Development: Participate in the design, development and analysis of an integrated suite of hardware, software and sensor technologies enabling the deployment of ADAS features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Collision Avoidance, Parking Assistance, and more. The ideal candidate will possess experience in automotive electronics, semiconductor technologies, embedded software, and system-level design, development, analysis, and Integration.

You'll have…

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer Science.5+ years of experience in electronics hardware engineering/product development.3+ years of experience in hardware development of automotive ECUs, with a focus on ADAS ECUs including 1 year of worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA).3+ years of experience with embedded systems, firmware development, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).Experience using MBSE tools (e.g. Magic Draw, MATLAB, Simulink, etc.).Strong knowledge of digital circuit design, signal processing, and microcontroller/processor architectures including familiarity with automotive SoC architecture, power management ICs, and embedded microcontrollers.Experience with hardware/software co-design and validation methodologies.Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.Hands-on experience with failure analysis methodologies such as FMEA, fault tree analysis, and root cause analysis.

Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering or Computer Engineering10+ years of experience with automotive ECU hardware development working with driver assistance systems, safety systems (active or passive) including experience from the concept phase through successful production introduction.5+ years of experience in embedded systems design, hardware development, and system integration.Hands-on experience with ADAS technologies, such as adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane-keeping assist (LKA), automatic emergency braking (AEB), and other sensor-based driver assistance features.5+ years of experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), safety-critical applications, and automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, LIN).Proficient in the analysis and troubleshooting of complex electronic systems.Experience with AUTOSAR and automotive software frameworks.

What you'll do…

Design, develop and integrate SoC, MPU, and MCU solutions for ADAS features, ensuring compatibility with interfacing hardware elements. Support cross-functional teams (hardware, software, and system engineers) in the development, analysis, integration, and optimization of ADAS solutions using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies.Collaborate with software, firmware, and systems engineers to define hardware specifications, technology requirements, and hardware software interfaces for ECU hardware components.Ensure hardware designs meet ADAS features performance, safety, and regulatory standards, including compliance with ISO 26262 (functional safety), and cybersecurity standards.Support the ADAS Platform System failure analysis ensuring critical hardware failure causes are identified and traced to system level failure modes and corresponding robustness actions are identified.Identify and mitigate potential risks in the hardware design by analyzing technical trade-offs and providing alternative solutions.Analyze and optimize the performance of the platform system hardware including validation of system interfaces, signal integrity, power consumption, and identifying and resolving potential bottlenecks (CPU load), latency issues, and data integrity problems.Support hardware testing and validation, including prototyping, simulation, and in-vehicle testing, to ensure the hardware functions properly under real-world conditions.Develop test methods to ensure seamless integration of hardware (SoCs/MPU/MCU) with embedded software and firmware elements.  Design testing methods and protocols, both virtual and physical, to validate performance in real-world conditions.Work closely with in-house software design teams, ADAS platform Systems engineers, suppliers and external partners to evaluate, and integrate third-party components and software for ADAS systems.Provide support for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the ADAS platform system SoC integration, performance, and software at all levels of development.
