Job Description: Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Otolaryngology team in the Inpatient department. In this role, you will work closely with our renowned Otolaryngologists to provide comprehensive care to patients with ear, nose, and throat conditions requiring inpatient management. The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic conditions, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive health assessments on inpatients with otolaryngological conditions. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians. Provide patient education and counseling on treatment plans and management. Monitor patients' progress, manage complications, and make appropriate referrals as needed. Document patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care discussions. Serve as a resource and educator for nursing staff, residents, and medical students.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) in the state of Maryland. Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by an accredited certifying body (ANCC, AACN, etc.). Minimum of two years of clinical experience in acute care, preferably in Otolaryngology or a related specialty. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
