Our client is searching for an Actuarial Analyst who will be responsible for performing routine Reserving and Pricing tasks as assigned under direct supervision
Key Performance Areas
Provide basic actuarial services under direct supervision by a more experienced actuary
Works with Actuarial colleagues in becoming familiar with company operations business objectives and actuarial methodologies
Demonstrate increasing knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and procedures
Actively pursue local actuarial qualification and demonstrate consistent progress toward designation
Under direct guidance assists in calculation of actuarial best estimate reserves loss and premium price monitoring planning and profitability analyses for defined segments of insurance business
Performs research emergence studies and other statistical analyses
Under direct guidance calculates premiums for new/renewal business
Performs research experience studies and other statistical analysis
Support actuarial services related to Risk Based Capital model development parameterisation and allocation activities
Requirements
University Degree in Mathematics or a related field
Pursuing Actuarial qualification
1 to 3 years of experience in an actuarial environment
Selfmotivation and drive
Professional enthusiastic and positive attitude
Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Basic knowledge of actuarial professional guidance and relevant legislation
Basic knowledge of finance and accounting practices financial analysis and reporting ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Basic knowledge of the insurance industrys trends directions major issues regulatory considerations and trendsetters
Intermediate knowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organization its business activities and employees ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Effective oral and written communication presentation and interpersonal skills
Intermediate knowledge of and ability to use spreadsheet software
Basic knowledge of statistical and actuarial tools and techniques and ability to apply modelling processes and techniques to facilitate risk management decisions
Basic knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business
