What will I do every day?
Develop and promote a variety of group and individual Wellness programs Manage resident risk through functional assessments and resident lifestyle assessmentsOversee the publication of a Wellness calendar and newsletterImplement and manage an effective transportation programEstablish and manage a volunteer programConduct departmental planning and forecastingEnsure an effective staffing scheduleManage the wellness budget expenses and labor costsHire and train new members of the wellness team Perform other related duties as required
What will I need to be successful in this role?
Be a great team playerBe a progressive and creative thinkerBachelor’s degree preferredThree years of experience in programming, implementing, and oversight of activities and wellness programs for different levels of skill and cognitive abilityTwo or more years of experience in training and supervising staffExperience working with seniors preferredSpecial Requirements/Certifications:
Valid driver’s license and proof of good driving recordASFA Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer (preferred)ACSM Health/Fitness Instructor (preferred)Cooper Research Institute Fitness and Strength Training for seniors (preferred)Senior Fitness Association Certification (preferred)Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within reasonable time of employment (as required)First Aid CertificationDegree in recreation administration or therapeutic recreation OR who is state or nationally certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist OR certified by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals meets this requirement. This requirement is also met if you have completed the activity coordinator course of 48 hours or more through a community college before July 1, 2005. If this requirement is not met then a willingness to satisfy within 9 months of employment.
