The primary purpose of the Activities and Events Coordinator position is to facilitate, coordinate and execute the in-house activities, events, and community excursions. Must be able to supervise and engage the Fellowship Square Independent Living Activity staff and residents in an energetic and efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures, and as directed by the Director of Resident Experience.

Responsibilities To create, promote and facilitate an engaging, well-rounded activity program using the 8 Dimensions of Healthy Living.Facilitate the planning, physical set-up, and staffing of in-house events and classes, including coordination with other departments as directed by the Director of Resident Experience. Facilitate the planning and staffing of resident excursions in the community and off campus. When accompanying residents off property, collaborate with other staff in attendance to lead and direct residents in a safe and organized manner, following all established safety procedures and precautions.Collaborate monthly with the Assisted Living Activities Coordinator to schedule themes and activities for each month.Coordinate with the Resident Experience Director and lead the facilitation of the community-wide events with other departments.Respond to day-to-day needs and concerns of residents who wish to be involved in scheduled activities at Fellowship Square.Coordinate with the Transportation Department to Maintain resident reservations and activity sign up records through coordination of sign-up lists and telephone correspondenceAttend all mandatory Supervisor training and classes. Complete departmental Purchase orders within a timely manner; all credit card PO’s must be processed within 2 business days. Complete and maintain deadlines for monthly newsletter and calendar.Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork per AZDHS regulations and guidelines.Maintain employee timecards and ADP payroll duties. Conduct follow-ups with residents and their families via phone, email, or in person to confirm sign-ups and reservations for activities.Serve as a resource for residents on details and procedures regarding upcoming activity events and schedule.Distribute the activity schedules to residents, including monthly event postings and newsletters.Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm attitude when visiting with staff and residents.Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure resident rights are protected.Oversee the Activity Assistants, ensuring that tasks and responsibilities are aligned with the residents' needs and the department's activities.Promote the Christian Care entities and our partners in Senior Care in Motion (SCIM) to the residents and public in a positive manner.Other related duties that may become necessary or as directed by the Director of Resident Experience. Qualifications A high school diploma is the minimum requirement.Be a minimum of 18 years of age and of good moral character.Experience with activity scheduling, organization, and program development required. Minimum 1-3 years’ experience with seniors in an Independent Living facility is required. Experience with a senior activity program and wellness program preferred, but not required. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.Having the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action and remaining calm during emergency situations is essential.Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Word, among others, is required.Learn and become proficient in Canva within 3 months of hire.Possess the ability to deal tactfully and empathetically with personnel, residents, visitors and the general public.Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures and guidelines.Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.The capability to reduce the waste of supplies and prevent the misuse of equipment is essential.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
