GENERAL PURPOSE
Design Within Reach is hiring an Account Manager to join our DWR Contract team. As an Account Manager, you'll build relationships with contract furniture dealers, purchasing agents, A&D and end users to provide an exceptional client experience. You will support contract sales accounts throughout the purchasing process from discovery and pricing through punch-list, delivery, and post-delivery support. As an Account Manager, you'll report to the Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Build and manage relationships with clients, manufacturers, dealers/purchasing agents as well as DWR’s sales and operations departments through prior knowledge of vertical market segments specific to your area of the business.
Develop the best solution in design, budget, and timeline for bespoke projects - partnering with manufacturers and clients as needed.
Handle confidential materials and matters with appropriate discretion.
Maintain and provide detailed status reports on all account activity including open orders, proposals, projects and unresolved issues, reviewing regularly with sales representatives and clients.
Manage all operational activity for assigned area autonomously - partnering with Sales Representatives and Project Managers as needed.
Monitor orders for ship dates, clarifications, discrepancies and changes to ensure client receives product when expected and in good condition.
Partner with the Project Manager for your assigned area to train and mentor Account Specialists and other operations team members.
Provide leadership and expertise within the Contract Operations team to define and implement new business initiatives.
Serve as primary point of contact for product specifications, pricing and lead-time information for quote requests and bids.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
High school diploma or its equivalent (GED)
Skills and Abilities
5-7 years of operations and/or client support experience in the contract furniture industry or related industry.
5+ years of experience with client relationship management specifically as it pertains to relevant vertical market segments such as hospitality, architecture and design.
Strong financial acumen; ability to understand and manage all mathematical and budgetary responsibilities related to project and account management,
Experience working with floor plans and other related technical drawings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; Salesforce.com CRM experience strongly preferred.
