Job DescriptionNorco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Acetylene Plant Operator position. The Acetylene Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the Acetylene Plant and safe filling of all acetylene cylinders. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The safe start up and shut down of the plant at the beginning or end of the dayOperate and monitoring plant during operationRecording required information on logs at required time intervalsSafely filling Hydrogen, Chemtane, and Propane according to proceduresRespond to any alarms, assess the problem and initiate the appropriate corrective actionPerform visual inspection on cylinders prior to fillingSafely fill acetylene cylinders and perform leak checks on all cylinders at predetermined PSIGVerify labeling is correct and readable on filled cylindersFollow established procedures for blowing acetylene cylinders down and getting them ready for re-qualification or maintenance Perform other tasks as assigned or necessaryWage $18-$19/HrQualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalentAccurately enter data into computersAcquire a working knowledge of any software applications necessary to the positionGood verbal and written communication skillsGood organization skillsPerform basic mathematics calculationsPerform tasks requiring manual dexterity (i.e. processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, etc.)Ability to lift up to 50 lbsGood problem solving skillsPrevious knowledge of cylinders and gasesAdditional InformationNorco offers a competitive compensation/benefit package, including:
