The anticipated salary range for this role is between $48,000.00 and $60,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
**GENERAL SUMMARY:**
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the accounts payable function in an efficient and thorough manner with minimal supervision. The Specialist will also perform some general accounting duties as assigned.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Ensure that all submitted invoices for payment have proper back-up documentation, proper approvals and proper account coding and that amounts are assigned to the correct responsibility center and general ledger account number.
+ Assist with accounts payable check and ACH runs.
+ Answer all vendor inquiries and conducting research regarding outstanding billings and delays in payment.
+ Scan, prepare and mail accounts payable checks.
+ Maintain accounts payable files.
+ Summarize and posts accounts payable data to the accounts payable subsidiary system and general ledger.
+ Prepare various system reports upon request from management, related to accounts payable disbursements.
+ Prepare totals, balances, and reconcile accounts for each check run.
+ Pick up mail for Controllers and Treasury Departments and distribute to the appropriate parties.
+ Assist in maintaining and updating the Bank’s fixed asset records.
+ Create vendor files (Employees + Coupa Out of Scope)

**POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:**
**Education:** A.A. Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
**Experience:**
+ 2-3 years prior accounting experience desirable.
+ Plus, at least 1-3 years of Accounts Payable experience.
**Skills/ Qualifications:**
+ Solid understanding of general accounting principles and procedures.
+ Basic spreadsheet skills (Excel) required, word processing (Word) skills helpful.
+ Excellent planning and organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ 10-key adding machine by touch.
