Job Duties As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be responsible for creating invoices, ensuring the company receives payment for goods sold to on account customers, processing customer payments, process collections and maintain customer account reconciliations in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner under mid-level supervision. This includes maintaining internal controls to ensure transactions are processed properly in accordance with company policies, procedures, and required compliance. The AR Specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, staying on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners. Prepare and issue invoices to customers promptly and accurately Ensure all invoices are compliant with company policies and requirements Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively follow up on overdue accounts Communicate with customers via phone, email, and letters to resolve payment issues Accurately apply customer payments to corresponding invoices Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies Perform regular reconciliation of customer account to ensure accuracy Identify and investigate any discrepancies or irregularities in accounts receivable Prepare and distribute account receivable reports to management Assist in month end closing activities related to accounts receivable Maintain positive relationships with customers while ensuring timely payment Address and resolve customer queries and disputes related to billing Identify and implement improvements to the accounts receivable process to enhance efficiency Assist with the development and implementation of accounts receivable policies and procedures Qualifications Education/Licenses/Certifications: High School Diploma, specialized training/certification, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience (2+ years’ related work experience). Associates degree preferred. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Core Competencies: Proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; understand and follow oral and written instructions; clear, concise communication skills both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
