Accounts Receivable Officer | Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah

An Accounts Receivable Officer with Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is responsible for managing and monitoring the hotel’s receivables, ensuring timely billing, accurate record-keeping and prompt collection of outstanding balances in a timely manner.  This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong guest relationships, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the overall financial health of the property.

What will I be doing

\n

The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for the efficient operation of Billing and Collection and all activities related to credit control, billing and collection. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nPrepare and issue accurate invoices for all hotel services including rooms, events, banquets and other outlets.\nEnsure that all charges are properly recorded and supported by appropriate documentation and in line with contracts, packages, and agreed rates.\nMonitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with guests, corporate clients, and travel agents for timely payment.\nCoordinate with Front Office, Spa, F&B, Sales and Events teams to validate all billable services. Liaise with teams to resolve billing queries and disputes.\nEvaluate and review credit applications from corporate clients and travel agencies, ensuring adherence to hotel credit policies.\nReconcile daily revenue reports and ensure proper recording in the general ledger.\nConduct regular audits of accounts receivable ledgers, investigating any discrepancies.\nPrepare monthly accounts receivable reports and analysis for the Finance Manager.\nRespond to guest inquiries regarding billing promptly and professionally.\nMaintain clear, courteous, and professional communication with clients to foster strong relationships.\nEnsure all billing and collection activities comply with the hotel’s internal controls, financial policies, and relevant regulations.\nMaintain organized records and documentation to support audits and financial reviews.\nEnsure compliance with hotel policies, accounting standards, and local regulations.\nSupport the finance team with general accounting tasks as needed.\n

What are we looking for

\n\nDiploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\nMinimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or hospitality environment.\nStrong understanding of hotel operations and financial processes (including Opera, Micros, or similar hotel PMS systems).\nExcellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nExceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy.\nStrong communication skills, with fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).\nFinancial acumen with a proactive approach to collections.\nCustomer service orientation when dealing with guests and corporate clients.\nAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nIntegrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential financial information\n\n
