Accounts Receivable Lead

Accounts Receivable (AR) is a growing sub-team within the Accounting Operations Team. The Accounting Operations team is responsible for Travel & Expense, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. 

The Accounts Receivable Department is responsible for the billing process for our Virtual Card Network (VCN), Brand Sponsored Program (BSP), and Affirm card merchants, as well as processing customer and merchant refunds.  

The AR Lead will be a key player in setting objectives for the AR Team that align with the Accounting Operations department goals and be responsible for managing all aspects of the AR Department, including managing the AR staff and overseeing primary responsibilities within each area. The AR Lead is responsible for managing timely month end close activities and ensuring accurate financial records. 

What You'll Do

Manage timely processing of invoices for our merchants and affiliate partners and review invoices for accuracy

Manage cash applications and billing adjustments, as well as maintain an accurate AR aging

Manage timely processing of customer refunds

Work closely with CSMs to inquire about merchant deal sensitivities, obtain escalation contacts, and potentially learn other helpful information about the merchant

Work cross functionally to streamline processes and implement automation as it relates to AR

Prepare and review journal entries, reconcile GL account balances, and analyze variances in accordance with the Accounting Department’s close schedule

Create and manage metrics and KPIs, process documentation, and drive process improvements

Perform SOX walkthroughs to ensure no deficiency in SOX compliance

Provide SOX/Audit related PBCs as requested by request due dates

Prepare and distribute ad-hoc reporting to upper management

What We Look For

5+ years of related Accounts Receivable (AR) experience, preferably working within a rapidly growing company

Ability to clearly and concisely communicate both written and verbally with exceptional interpersonal skills

Ability to work extremely well cross functionally

Excellent leadership skills to support your team on a daily basis 

Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills 

You are curious and love to find new ways of improving processes

Base Pay Grade - H

Equity Grade - 3

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. 

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).

CAN base pay range per year: $78,000 - $118,000
