Accounts Payable Specialist
Description Calling all Accounts Payable Specialists! We have a great opportunity with a client in the Greenville area seeking an AP Specialist for their team. The position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity, providing an enriching environment to showcase your skills in a dynamic workplace. Responsibilities: • Resolve any discrepancies that may arise in invoices. • Engage in regular check runs to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes. • Handle Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments, including gathering bank information and setting up files. • Assist in managing expense reports, including coding and payment. • Contribute to month-end tasks, including creating basic journal entries related to Accounts Payable (AP). • Conduct General Ledger (G/L) coding, which may require extensive research and time due to the complexity of the codes. • Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage spreadsheets, pivot tables, and formulas. Ensure data consistency and formula application. • Handle invoice processing for multiple entities, which may involve intercompany entries and necessitate corporate approval. • Demonstrate reliability and adaptability in learning and applying our processes and systems. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and operations • Experience in handling Invoice Discrepancies and resolving them efficiently • Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions • Ability to conduct Check Runs accurately and promptly • Experience in preparing and analyzing Expense Reports • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas • Experience in preparing Journal Entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance • Ability to manage Multiple Vendors, ensuring timely and accurate payments Onsite full-time during training (3-5 months) Opportunity for hybrid schedule (2 days remote) once trained Pay: DOE Business Casual Attire Contract to hire **The ideal person will be a self-starter and have critical thinking skills. Prior AP and Excel experience is a must. This position reports directly to the Controller with a hands-off management style.
