Accounts Payable Specialist
Description Our client, a leading company in the construction industry, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join their finance team. The AP Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment to vendors and suppliers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with AP experience, looking to contribute to a dynamic and growing industry. Responsibilities: + Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing, coding, and entering invoices into the accounting system. + Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. + Ensure that all payments are made in accordance with company policies and contractual agreements. + Review and verify purchase orders, contracts, and receipts for accuracy before processing payments. + Prepare and maintain accurate accounts payable records and documentation. + Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. + Respond to vendor inquiries regarding outstanding invoices and payments. + Manage the payment scheduling process to ensure timely disbursements. + Work closely with project managers and other departments to ensure accuracy of job costing and vendor accounts. + Assist in preparing reports related to accounts payable and cash flow. + Support audit preparation by providing necessary accounts payable documentation. + Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Controller. Requirements + Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience). + 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction industry. + Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and principles. + Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint, Sage 300, etc.) is a plus. + Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy. + Excellent organizational and time-management skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with vendors, project managers, and internal teams.
