Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic accounting team. In this role, you will process approximately 500 invoices per week, manage urgent payment requests, and issue payments daily. This position involves less coding of invoices and more problem-solving and payment processing. The ideal candidate can handle multiple tasks simultaneously without getting overwhelmed and consistently approaches challenges with a positive, solution-oriented attitude. High attention to detail is essential. Responsibilities: • Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment • Monitors priority check request email box daily and handles urgent requests as they arise • Acts as liaison between corporate and field, researching issues prior to payment • Answers vendor and market inquiries • Maintains and compiles accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and records • Distributes signed checks and processes overnight shipments to branches and vendors • Creates ACH uploads for the bank daily • Researches the status of payables in the process chain • Assists in monthly closings by posting all invoices received by the last day of the month • Analyzes accounts to help vendors reconcile differences between records • Identifies and corrects potential opportunities to minimize expenses • Follows up with various properties on outstanding Security Deposits Hard Skills + Invoice Processing + Payment Processing + Data Entry + Excel + Accounts Analysis + ACH Upload Creation Soft Skills + Self-directed Ability + Customer Service Focus + Attention to Detail + Problem-solving + Team Collaboration Work Site This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Greenwood Village, Colorado and some days remote. Work Environment The accounting department consists of 20 team members, including AP, AR, and GL. There are 5 members on the AP team. The role requires on-site work in the DTC office until fully trained (approximately 30 days), after which there is an opportunity to work from home 2-3 days a week based on management agreement and training progress. The team has a close-knit culture, with accounting appreciation weeks and team events, emphasizing a strong team effort.
