The Senior Accounts Payable Representative resolves invoice payment problems for the assigned department and provides support to Accounts Payable Management. Specifically, the Senior Accounts Payable Representative prepares and processes payments accurately and on time for amounts owed by the institution.
Responds to vendor, customer, and staff questions and concerns. Reviews and verifies all purchase orders, statements, and invoices needed to prepare payments. Reconciles bills and balances accounts and resolves any discrepancies to accounts. Tracks all payment and transaction records using applicable systems. Acts as liaison to other departments to resolve issues. Prepares, maintains, and submits reports and logs of all unresolved problem invoices to appropriate managing staff. Reviews and corrects rejected invoices and documents remedial actions taken. Researches and verifies vendor addresses, requests replacement checks, readdresses checks, and submits change of address form to appropriate department. Provides guidance and backup support to other Accounts Payable Representatives. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.Ability to prepare financial and accounting records.Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely.
