Job Description Summary

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Accounts Payable and Global Financial Shared Services and is responsible for various activities, with a focus on supervising day to day activities within the U.S. Accounts Payable Shared Services Department. This role will require a high level of work with our U.S. sites, as well as a variety of different internal customers (i.e. Corporate Departments, Plant Finance, Materials, Purchasing, etc.).

Work involves a good understanding of the Procure to Pay Process, as well as the applicable policies and procedures. This position requires strong leadership in addition to analytical, business process, and communication skills.

Personnel management / supervision:

Supervise Shared Services Analysts and College Co-op level staffTogether with AP Manager, establish annual goals for the teamComplete performance reviews for your team

Supervise Day to Day Operations. Responsible for the team’s timely completion of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly activities for AAM’s U.S. locations:

Ensure all invoices and payments are processed in a timely mannerPrepare disbursements cash forecasting reports utilized by Corporate TreasuryControls and tools to avoid duplicate paymentsReview and monitor entry and approval of non-PO invoicesPrepare and review account reconciliations including monthly journal entriesPerform supplier statement reconciliations and research and resolve supplier invoice and payment discrepanciesManage US Procurement Card programDevelop and maintain Desk Procedures and Job AidsAssist in Business Process improvementsGeneral supervisory duties, including leading team meetings and the coordination of work

Other Duties:

AP Month End CloseSupplier Banking Information Maintenance1099 and 1042 ReportingPrepare Sarbanes-Oxley testing for Accounts Payable activities on a quarterly basis (performs assessor functions in Sox tool).Actively participate in AAM Treasury Operations Reviews.Participate in special projects as assignedAll other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Education

Position Requirements:

Required:   Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, IT or related field of studyPreferred:  Advanced degree or certifications in related fieldPreferred: 2 years of Supervisory ExperienceMinimum 5 years of related financial and/or business process experienceGood business systems aptitude and experience with ERP systems (Oracle and Plex)Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and work within restricted time constraintsAnalytical / problem-solving skills  High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, and demonstrated leadership skills.
