Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team based in Mare Island, California. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and maintaining our accounts payable processes within the industry. This role is a contract to hire employment opportunity, offering vital experience in a dynamic and professional environment. Responsibilities: • Handle the receipt of invoices, matching them with purchase orders, and verifying account codes. • Ensure all invoices are supported by appropriate documentation and approved before payment. • Prepare, enter, and post invoices to accounting and procurement software. • Handle the printing of checks and prepare and upload positive pay files to the bank website. • Prepare ACH vendor payments via accounting software download files/bank upload files. • Notify end users regarding any problems with invoices. • Investigate past due invoices and resolve invoice discrepancies and other vendor issues. • Monitor A/P inboxes and vendor statements to ensure that vendor accounts are current. • Audit and process travel and expense reimbursements. • Interact with creditors and/or vendors and reconcile Accounts Payable transactions. • Review weekly A/P Aging report and assist in Form 1099 preparation and year-end Accounts Payable accruals. Requirements • Must possess skills in account reconciliation • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary • Experience in check runs is required • Coding invoices skills are essential • Must have data entry skills for accurate record keeping • Should be capable of processing invoices efficiently • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary • Numeric data entry skills are essential.
