About the role
\nThe Accounts Officer position is responsible for a broad range of accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income audit functions, as well as efficiently managing departmental paperwork. You will work under the general supervision of the Central Shared Services Finance Managers, adhering to Hilton's established policies and procedures and complying with New Zealand's legal requirements.
\nStarting with accounts payable as primary responsibility, you will be responsible to manage all functions related to account payable across multiple hotels in our portfolio. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will support the hotels with financial, administrative, and clerical tasks, ensuring timely and accurate payments to our suppliers.
\n\nSpecifically, your role will involve:
\n· Efficiently process invoices, including matching and resolving discrepancies for purchase and non-purchase order transactions, using DocMX and BirchStreet systems.
\n· Reconcile supplier statements, follow up on outstanding invoices, and ensure all credits and discounts are accurately accounted for.
\n· Coordinate payment runs and employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with Hilton policies
\n· Collaborate with stakeholders to address aged open items, monitor purchase orders, and support end-of-month close activities, ensuring timely financial reporting.
\n· Support system enhancements, troubleshoot technology issues, and handle ad-hoc tasks as required to streamline operations and meet business needs.
\n\nWhat are we looking for?
\n· A degree level qualification in Finance or Accounting preferred
\n· Previous experience in a Finance role and specifically in the Procure to Pay function will be an added advantage
\n· Experience working in the Hotel or Hospitality Industry is an advantage
\n· Proficiency, at an intermediate to advanced level, with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft programs (Excel and Word).
\n· Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
\n· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
\n· Ability to be flexibility with working days during month end, quarter end and year end
