Accounting Specialist
Accounting Specialist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our fast-growing team in the clean tech industry. This is a contract-to-hire position, offering a hybrid work environment with three days in the office (Tuesday to Thursday) and two days virtual. As an Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing accounts payable, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions. Responsibilities + Performing Accounts Payable tasks. + Maintaining vendor records, reconciliation, and tracking expenses. + Analyzing workflow processes to find more efficient ways of doing things. + Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors. + Ensuring bills are being paid in a timely and accurate manner. + Processing due invoices for payments. + Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges. + Serving as back-up in areas of Payroll and Office Administration. + Assisting with journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes. + Assisting the Director of Finance in assorted projects and tasks. + Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of full cycle AP/AR experience (2 years with Degree). + Experience with paperless/automated systems like ACH. + Experience with 3-way match. + Proficient in journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes. + Experience with Tier 1/Tier 2 ERP Software. + Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivots & VLOOKUPS). + Experience with payroll processing and sales tax. + Experience with Sage software. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance (preferred but not required). + Experience with hubdoc, xero, or Sage software. + Experience with sales tax registration. + Relevant industry experience. + High attention to detail. + Organized multi-tasker. + Excellent communicator internally and externally. + Integrity, promptness, forthrightness, trustworthiness, reliability, and excellence. + Personable and professional demeanor with great customer service skills. + Solutions-oriented and able to work well in a team environment. + Experience with manufacturing, construction, or production is a plus.
