The Senior Advisor for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Accounting Policy and Controls team which is responsible for various tasks within accounting including but not limited to:
Participating in analyzing Company transactions to ensure the appropriate application of US GAAP, including but not limited to: Participating in the evaluation of new contracts to identify, analyze and conclude on technical accounting considerations, i/e, revenue recognition, lease accounting, derivative accounting, etc. Participating in discussions related to significant Company transactions to identify and analyze any potential technical accounting considerations. Monitoring standard-setters for latest accounting regulations, analyzes impact of new/emerging regulations on the Company, and ensure appropriate application and disclosure Leading implementation of future new regulations and pronouncements Helping with the review of SEC filings Reviewing investor relations presentations, press releases, Proxy and other publications before they are released to ensure compliance with SEC regulations and consistency with SEC filings Developing accounting policies and procedures for various accounting functions and promoting their consistent application throughout Apache Managing the Company’s internal control environment to ensure all process documentation, including process flow diagrams narratives and risk control matrices remain current Continuously maintaining and updating the Company’s internal control environment to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements Leading Special Projects as needed Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 10+ years of public accounting experience required Candidates with 12+ years of combined experience in corporate industry and public accounting may be considered CPA (preferred) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Outstanding communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organizational, and leadership skills Competencies
