THE ROLE

Van Andel Arena and DeVos Place are seeking a dedicated Accounting Manager to join our team. This role involves managing financial records, performing account analysis, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain fixed asset detail records and perform account analysis.Reconcile A/R and A/P control accounts to detail aging.Reconcile cash receipts and disbursements.Perform monthly closing of sub ledgers.Input journal entries.Conduct account analysis on other general ledger accounts.Perform any other functions delegated by the Director of Finance.Maintain and audit box office ticket sales reports.Collaborate with promoters on event settlements.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if the specific role needs it)       

Assist the Director of Finance in managing finance staff.

Education and/or Experience          

B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.Part-time or summer internship experience in a position with accounting responsibilities preferred.Or a similar combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities  

Thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting.

Excellent math skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management and clients.

Detail-oriented.

Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing software, with a willingness to learn and use accounting and financial reporting software.
