Position Summary: The Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this individual will oversee the monthly close process, ensure compliance with GAAP, and support financial reporting, audit, and tax support activities. This role is ideal for an experienced accountant looking to take the next step in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactions.Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies, implementing process improvements where necessary.Assist in financial statement preparation and support external auditors during annual audits.Lead the revenue recognition process in alignment with company policies and healthcare industry standards.Reconcile AR sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly, investigating and resolving discrepancies.Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, and macros) to streamline financial reporting and analysisAnalyze and monitor AR aging reports, supporting collection efforts and improving cash flow management.Review and analyze variance reports, identifying trends and providing insights to senior leadership.Collaborate with the FP&A and revenue cycle teams to improve financial accuracy and reporting.Support integration efforts for acquisitions, including accounting system conversions and financial due diligence.Develop and document internal controls and accounting policies to improve efficiency and mitigate risk.Mentor and provide guidance to senior accountants and staff within the department.Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA track strongly preferred).5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-site healthcare, private equity-backed, or fast-growth company with strong monthly close experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP, specifically ASC 606, financial reporting, and internal controls.Experience with GL systems and Reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, PowerBI, or similar).Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools, especially working with large data sets.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Experience with M&A accounting and integration a plus.
