Overview

The Accounting Clerk assists with departmental projects and handle queries and exceptions as needed.  This role renders functional execution on invoice billing and accounts payable, as well as miscellaneous filings.

Responsibilities

Assists in accounting statements and reportsOrganizes and maintains up to date financial recordsProvides daily and monthly financial and management reportsMaintains telephone and personal contact with staff and vendors on receivable matters as directed by managerAssists in financial management and analysis, as requestedReviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to paymentSorts and distributes incoming mailProcesses 3 way P.O. matching invoices, up to 100 plus line itemsPrioritizes invoices according to cash discount potential and payment termsProcesses check requestsMatches invoices to checks, obtains all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly1099 maintenanceResponds to all vendor inquiriesReconciles vendor statements, researches and corrects discrepanciesAssists in month end closingDaily invoicing of customers including assisting with sales numbersOrder and maintain all office suppliesMaintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practicesFamiliar with SOX regulations

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to use 10-key calculator for a variety of accounting functionsAbility to perform at high levels in a fast paced ever-changing work environmentAbility to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum directionEfficient in Microsoft Excel

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred1-3 years relevant accounting experienceMinimum two years’ experience in an office environment
