SUMMARY: \n

Regional Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Associate to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field who is eager to gain hands-on experience in financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations.\n

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles and be comfortable working with general ledger accounts, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and financial reports.\n

Key Responsibilities:\n\nMaintain accurate financial records by recording transactions in the general ledger.\nProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.\nAssist with monthly and year-end close processes, preparing journal entries and financial reports.\nMonitor cash flow\nSupport audit preparations by organizing documentation and assisting with external auditor requests.\nMaintain and update vendor and customer records in accounting software.\nAssist in sales tax reporting and compliance as required.\nPerform administrative accounting tasks such as filing, data entry, and assisting senior accountants as needed.\n\n

Qualifications:\n\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or an associate's degree with relevant experience).\nKnowledge of basic accounting principles, including GAAP.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently while meeting deadlines.\nStrong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.\nEffective communication skills for working with vendors, customers, and internal teams.\n\n

Preferred Qualifications \n\nInternship or prior work experience in bookkeeping or accounting is a plus.\nFamiliarity with inventory accounting or multi-location retail accounting\nExperience working with ERP systems or cloud-based accounting software.
