The Corporate Accounting area in Equitable’s Controllers department performs many corporate accounting functions including daily cash accounting, capital transactions, general ledger oversight, and management of the closing process. The Treasury accounting team is looking for an individual with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with a background in accounting. At a high level, responsibilities for this role will include daily cash accounting, Treasury systems support, journal entries, monthly reporting, and special projects.

Data entry and ongoing account reconciliation to ensure business area accounts are robust and accurateApplies working knowledge of a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting departmentAssist in monitoring of closing processAssist/preparing monthly entries and ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and accounting policies.Assist in daily cash reporting and input to general ledgerApplies working knowledge of analytical and technical tools, such as Excel, and SAP, to research and answer basic accounting related questions and communicates findings clearly Resolves data integrity issues as it relates to investigating questionable data and trends - Continuously evaluates existing procedures and processes for improvementDevelops and maintains ongoing partnership within the team and across the department

The base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting1 years of Accounting and/or Treasury experienceWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office products with a very high level of Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and the accounting close processStatutory experienceTeam player, customer service oriented and strong work ethicSelf-reliant, ability to manage time and deadlines independently with strong attention to detailProven written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsExperience with financial reporting software – Treasury workstation and General Ledger systems such as SAP
