What this job involves:

Our finance apprentice programme will provide you with first-hand experience while working towards a professional qualification.

This is an 18 month apprenticeship programme, where you’ll be given lots of support and full training in all aspects of the job role. No previous experience in finance is required, but transferable skills and passion for finance could be helpful. It’s important to know that you will be studying the AAT a Level 3 pathway to becoming an Accounting/Bookkeeping professional, as well as gaining experience in all areas of the team’s expertise so you can build your career.

Anyone without a degree can join this programme, as we’re focused on training you to becoming a qualified and well-rounded professional.

Here you will gain exposure to various clients through rotations within the accounting department whilst learning about our other operational departments such as banking services and credit control and how they feed into accounts.

What your day-to-day will look like:

You’ll get involved in real work from day one that will help clients achieve their ambitions. The work will vary depending on the team you are in but below are some of what you’ll experience:

Learning and connecting with teams across our business to deliver a great service

Contacting and building positive relationships with clients, and occupiers, helping them with queries utilising various communication methods including video, telephone or email

Supporting preparation of key account reconciliations

Updating information accurately on our finance and property management systems

Undertaking account and data analysis to provide additional insight to our clients

Supporting the preparation of reports and accounts required for client and internal reporting

Seizing opportunities to get involved with work and projects in your team and the wider business

Studying towards the AAT Level 3 qualification through self-study and online sessions

Ongoing development through on the job learning and regular coaching from dedicated apprenticeship support in addition to ‘classroom’ learning

Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll gain lots of experience in different areas of JLL Managed Services to help grow your career.

This isn’t a complete list and there may be other responsibilities you take on as required. Don’t worry though as we’ll be reasonable, and you’ll be fully supported! We want to help you learn new skills, so if you have the passion to do more then we’ll do our best to help you get there!

What you’ll get from us:

We know that your unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives help us think bigger, spark innovation and succeed together.

At JLL, we want everyone to feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential, and here are just some of the ways we’ll make that happen.

Support from us – The Early Careers team will be with you every step of the way during your programme. Your manager and team will also be there to guide you day-to-day.

Support from your training provider – They will be teaching the theory behind your role and guiding you to achieving your qualification. This could be through a virtual learning environment, online webinars, workshops, a dedicated Learning Coach.

Training opportunities for everyone – No matter your experience or role, both our Early Careers and Learning teams will provide you with lots of ways to improve and develop your skills, from financial accounting to managing stakeholders

20% off-the-job training – As an apprentice, you will receive time to study with your training provider, typically one day each week. This time will involve online learning, joining webinars, and completing assignments

Dress for your day – Each day will be different, so we trust you to dress according to what you’re doing. For example, if you’re meeting clients then it’s important to dress smartly to reflect the great work we do, and we encourage you dress more casually when you don’t.

Competitive salary – As an accredited Living Wage employer, we are committed to paying you a wage that is fair and competitive to the industry we work in.

25 days holiday, plus bank holidays each year – We encourage you take breaks from work and hope you use this time to recharge regularly throughout the year.

2 paid volunteer days each year – We feel it’s important to give back to the communities around us. JLL set up events with specific charities and organisations which you can get involved with, such as our work with schools. Or you can use your days to support a charity or local organisation of your choice.

Wide range of employee benefits – You can take advantage of them, which include a well-being support and resources, exclusive discounts, pension, private medical healthcare, dental insurance, employee assistance programme, season ticket loan, cycle-to-work scheme, mortgage advice, and more.

Required Skills and Experience:

AAT Level 2 or an A Level in Accounting is desirable for this role, alternatively if you do not have this, you will need to complete a 10-hour online course in Bookkeeping which we will share with you.

GCSEs – C / 4 grade or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)

You’ll be speaking to people across the business and some external people on the phone and through emails so it’s important you have excellent spoken and written communication with high standard of English, including spelling and grammar.

You’ll be working with lots of data and financial information, so strong numeracy skills and attention to detail is key

You’ll be confident in using laptops and Microsoft office programmes like Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

You’ll be careful to ensure processes are following correctly and flagging any issues

You can work with lots of different people and create good, lasting professional relationships

You’ll enjoy working at a fast pace and adapting to different challenges, so you’ll have a positive attitude to your work

You’ll be studying for a qualification alongside your day-to-day role, so it’s important that you can balance different priorities and produce high quality work

You’ll be sensible and discrete with information to ensure it is kept fully confidential

You’ll have an understanding and passion to start and build your career in the finance industry

You’ll have a curious mindset so you can learn and grow with us

Right to work in the UK:

You will need to have permanent right to work in the UK, with no time restrictions or limited working hours. Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor visas, including Graduate Visas beyond the programme
