Why does this role exist?This role exists to strengthen the financial reporting and data analysis capabilities of the Accounting and Operations department. The position will play a crucial role in improving accounting processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and providing valuable insights through SQL-driven data analysis. By bridging the gap between accounting and technology, this role will contribute significantly to the company's growth and decision-making processes.


The Impact you'll makeFinancial Reporting and Analysis\nPrepare and analyze financial reports using SQL to extract accurate data\nDesign and build SQL queries for ad hoc reporting and performance analysis\nAssist in month-end and year-end closing procedures\n
Process Improvement and Automation\nCollaborate on special projects to streamline operations and ensure compliance\nAutomate repetitive tasks using SQL for enhanced efficiency\nDevelop and implement new processes to improve overall financial operations\n
Data Management and Insights\nEnsure accuracy and alignment of financial data across the organization\nIdentify trends and insights through SQL-driven data analysis\nSupport audit processes by providing relevant reports and data analysis\n
Cross-functional Collaboration\nWork closely with the Controller and COO on special accounting and reporting projects\nLiaise with stakeholders across departments to ensure data accuracy and relevance\nCommunicate financial insights effectively to non-financial team members\n
Measure of Success\nAccuracy and timeliness of financial reports and analysis\nSuccessful implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives\nQuality and relevance of insights derived from data analysis\n

Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseRequired Experience\nBachelor's Degree in Accounting\nProven experience in SQL coding/scripting for financial reporting\nStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes\nProficiency in data analysis and interpretation\nExperience with ERP systems and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Amazon FBA, Shopify)\n
