About the job:

This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of accurate financial information for specific areas of the general ledger and financial statements. This information supports effective fiscal planning, reporting, attainment of strategic goals and objectives of the organization, and provides current financial statements of the Medical Center's performance.

What you'll do:

Prepare complete and accurate journal entries by the closing date on a monthly basis for the Medical Center and Medical Foundation.

Assist in preparation of the monthly financial statements, statistics and the financial statement narrative by deadline for reporting to the Board of Trustees and the Corporate office.

Reconcile, analyze and adjust general ledger accounts as necessary. Maintain accurate detail in support of the general ledger account balances.

As assigned, assist with prepare Federal and State income tax returns.

As assigned, prepare quarterly State sales and use tax returns.

As assigned, assist with annual property tax returns and welfare exemption requests.

As assigned, perform daily cash management activities for the Medical Center and Medical Foundation.

As assigned, assist with areas of annual budget, including capital budget, portions of Medical Center's and Medical Foundation's operating budget, analysis of the budget, and the budget package.

.As assigned, prepare periodic community benefits report.

As assigned, prepare monthly endowment statements.

As assigned, prepare governmental surveys and other reports as required.

Interact with department heads regarding questions on responsibility summaries and other financial information.

Correspond with banks, tax authorities, outside auditors, Corporate office, and others as needed to correctly account for and report financial information.

Complete special projects, financial analysis and research as needed.

Complete assigned cross training of functional positions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for :

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in accounting is required.

· License / Certification:

· Experience: Minimum of four years accounting experience is required; Knowledge of computer accounting systems, spreadsheets, written and oral communication of financial information is required. Knowledge of hospital/healthcare industry accounting

practices is preferred. Ability to perform duties and complete projects with minimal supervision is required.
