Accountant II (Hybrid)

We are looking for a Accountant II reporting directly to the local Finance Manager, who will provide general accounting and analytical support for the St. Peter manufacturing site. You’ll have the opportunity to work within all systems ensuring good financial performance through monitoring, reporting, escalating and troubleshooting. This position has huge growth potential as an individual contributor.

Job Requirements:
\n\n\nMust reside in Minnesota. Position is not eligible for relocation.
\n\n\nPosition requires to be onsite 3x per week.

\n\n\n\nYOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
\n\n\n\n
Participate in the monthly and quarterly closing processes by completing all required reports and documents within the month and quarter-end deadlines.
\n\n\nCreate and enter journal entries into the system for an advanced number of accounts under your responsibility.
\n\n\nPerform the financial analysis of an advanced number of accounts within your responsibilities such as accounts receivable, accounts payables, intercompany accounts and bank reconciliations.
\n\n\nPlay an active role in the monthly financial reporting activities by preparing, analyzing and summarizing results.
\n\n\nLead the cash forecast process by estimating, in collaboration with the business, incoming inflows and outflows.
\n\n\n\n\nParticipate in the budget and forecast exercises through variance analysis.
\n\n\nDevelop an expertise of the ERP and financial system (Distribution Plus) by understanding its functionality, its interconnection with the manufacturing operations and developing a solid understanding of the data.
\n\n\nTrack costs and profitability and contribute to finding ways to improve them.
\n\n\nProactively identify financial risks and opportunities in your scope of responsibilities and recommend actions to take.
\n\n\n\n\nAssist in Internal Control for generally accepted accounting principles and business activities.
\n\n\nAssessing gaps opportunities to improve efficiency in order to make process improvements.
\n\n\nParticipate and influence various “ad hoc” projects ensuring their contribution to the Marine Group’s financial objectives.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
\nAND COMPETENCIES:
\n\n
Required:
\n\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field with 4 plus years of experience; or other equivalent combination of education and experience totalling 8 years in relation to the role.
\n\n\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills: create spreadsheets with formulas, pivot tables, extract data and summarize in excel.
\n\n\nMonth-end close process or journal entries
\n\n\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage priorities.
\n\n\nStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, rigor and ability to work independently.
\n\n\nAbility to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, gaining trust of employees, peers and management.
\n\n\n\n
Preferred:
\n\n\nExperience with CRM/ERP systems.
\n\n\nExperience working in a global manufacturing environment.
\n\n\nExperience with reconciling general ledger accounts.
\n\n\n\n
